Parish Choirs. All our Parish Choirs are invited to a special training day in Carlow Parish Centre on Saturday February 23rd 2008
Children's Choir. There will be a practice for the Family Mass Children's Choir on Wednesday 16th & 23rd of January in Clane Church at 6pm
Children's Choir
Children's Choir practice has recommenced in the Church on Tuesdays at 6pm. Children from 2nd class upwards can participate.
Clane Church Choir. Under their new director, Tony Hanway, the choir have moved from the gallery to the front of the church to encourage the congregation to join them in singing the responses and other pieces. There is nothing more impressive than to hear a whole congregation singing the responses.
Will resume on Sunday 18th Sept at 11.30am Mass. Practice resumes Wednesday 21st at 8pm in Convent.
Clane Parish has a dedicated and enthusiastic Church Choir under the direction of Organist, Michael Weedle and Choir Co-ordinator, Máire Weedle for over 30 years.
The Choir sings every Sunday at the 11.30 a.m. Mass and for Christmas and Easter celebrations in the Parish.
They have taken part in many broadcast Masses on RTE from the Church and also from the RTE studio.
In 1997 and 1998 they won the Feis Ceoil Lombard Murphy Cup for Church Choirs.
In 2004 they took part in the Good Friday Liturgy for RTE. Their repertoire consists of a wide variety of music and settings for the Mass by modern composers and works by the Great Masters, Bach, Mozart, etc.
The Choir practices each Wednesday evening from 8.00 - 9.00 p.m. and new members are most welcome to join. Co-ordinator, Máire can be contacted on 045 868 158.
